Phtisiophobia

In the case of phtisiophobia (also phtisophobia), the person concerned has a pathologically excessive fear of tuberculosis or of being infected with it. With this specific phobia, those affected avoid physical contact with other people. Also proximity to hospitals or people who have or may have tuberculosis.

The word comes from the Greek: phthisio-, phthis- = decay or dwindle and phobos = fear.
