The study of the connection between movement and the psyche is called motology. The motology focuses on the question of how to support people in their development by working with physicality and movement.

The target group of the motology goes through all age groups from small children to old people. As a pedagogical or therapeutic concept, it is represented in a large number of institutions under the umbrella term "psychomotor".

This very young science has a holistic approach, the subject of which is the human motor function as a functional unit of perception, experience, thinking and acting.

Motology deals with the development of motor skills, their disorders and their treatment. It lies i.a. in the border area between anatomy, brain research, developmental psychology.
