Virology

The theory of viruses, in short, virology (Latin: virus= poison and Greek logos= theory) characterizes and classifies viruses. Another task of virology is research into their properties and reproduction as well as the prevention and treatment of viral infections. Virology has an interdisciplinary effect in the areas of microbiology and represents an interface between biology and medicine.
