Roth, Eugen
So that you go to the doctor, / God created the pain - because if it didn't hurt, / Then the first doctor would still be sitting / Alone in his waiting room
That's what hospitals mean / That - if it's possible - you get well in there / But if you're in it: then get out quickly! / The hospital is contagious
With good reason, the sick are brought to where the air is healthy / But there are already too many there / And a climatic health resort is created
The doctor intervenes in an emergency - / It doesn't have to be an intervention!
The family doctor doesn't come like he used to / You're trying to get yourself there / In the waiting room - it can take a long time! - / Do you have to lie in wait for the doctor
The humorist, mostly not cheerful himself / Only passes cheerfulness on to others / The science that is hardly ever wrong / Calls something like that an intermediate host
The patient only reluctantly trusts / The doctor who makes it painless and cheap / Never let the old principle rust: / It has to a) hurt, b) cost something
Wit is spice and not food / It is never given by the spoonful! / Beneficial - even with sharp jokes - / Is at most a knife tip!
The doctor's wife is in a bad way: / The otherwise conscientious man / Just neglects his duty with her - / And she doesn't have "free choice of doctor"
You should trust the doctor - of course! / You only mistrust the trusting one, / Because he orders you to look sharply, / Whether you can be trusted yourself
A person sees the light of day - / But it often turned out / After many a gloomy year / That this was the only ray of hope
A person says - and is proud of it - / He takes care of his duties / But soon, not quite so lively, / Does he give in to his duties
A man who fried himself a schnitzel / remarked that he didn't like it / but since he fried it himself / he does it as if he had been advised / and, not to betray himself, / he eats it with heartfelt pleasure
A summer rain is pleasant, / A rainy summer is abominable
