noun
Noun, also noun, noun or thing word, is a part of speech that designates the objective and non-objective. A distinction is then made between concrete and abstract.
According to the rules of German spelling, nouns are written with a capital letter. The noun belongs to the category of nouns and it can be declined. The relationships of the noun in the sentence are regulated by the declension. It can serve as a subject, object, attribute, apposition, predicative or within an adverbial clause.
In the German language, the noun can be combined with the article, which determines the grammatical gender. A special feature of German is the possibility of almost unlimited new formations through compounds. Other parts of speech, mostly verbs or adjectives, can become nouns by nouning.
