Central Burgenland

Central Burgenland lies south of Vienna and Lake Neusiedl and borders on the Hungarian lowlands to the east.

Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The area is hilly and well wooded. Deep, heavy sandy and loamy soils with good water storage capacity form the basis for characterful, tannin-heavy red wines.

Wine is grown on around 2100 hectares of hill country around Oberpullendorf.
