adjectives
The main function of adjectives is to attribute a quality or certain characteristics to living beings, objects, actions or states. Adjectives are also called property words.
In German, adjectives are lowercase, with the exception of geographically derived adjectives. If they end in -er, they are written with a capital first letter.
Adjectives can be changed in their form, they have no fixed gender. Every adjective has strong and weak endings. Most adjectives in the German language can be compared, which is called comparison.
Foreign words in German that end in a vowel cannot be declined or sharpened. Other adjectives such as color designations or designations of absolute properties as well as derivations from geographic designations can be declined but not sharpened.
