Location and surroundings:
The Parseierspitze is the main peak of the Lechtal Alps. This is in the Austrian
State of Tyrol. The Parseierspitze is about 7 kilometers as the crow flies west-northwest of Landeck
at the Inn. The neighboring mountain peaks to the north are called Vorderer, Mittlerer and Hinterer Seekopf and are
about 2718 m high. In the immediate east of this one finds the Gatschkopf with 2945 meters, west-southwest
the Eisenspitze with 2859 meters and in the west the Grießmuttekopf with a height of 2807 meters.
geology
An individual characteristic of the Parseierspitze is its impressive, greenish-reddishChain of rocks that can be seen just below the summit. These are radiolarites made from
emerge from the surrounding brownish marls and an applied layer of Aptychenkalk
form the summit from the upper Jura. Due to their resistance to weathering, they prevent
great erosion, which is why the mountain was able to maintain its unusual height for the area.
A small glacier (Grinnerferner) is located at the exit of the southeast face and a
additional small ice field (Parseierferner) exists in the southwest of the summit massif.
Bases and routes to climb
Judging by the documents, Joseph Anton Specht and Peter Siess were the first to succeed in 1869 with the
to climb the Parseierspitze, although one can assume that locals have already
previously climbed the mountain. From the Lechtal side, the Parseierspitze became
Climbed by Anselm Klotz in 1875.
The Augsburger Hütte, which is 2289 meters above sea level, still serves as the starting point today
for an ascent. Starting from Grins (Stanzer Tal) you can reach it in 3 1/2 hours
reach. If you choose the safe route to the Parseierspitze, you have to wait a good three hours
walk part of the Augsburger Höhenweg from the Augsburger Hütte and then via the
patrol chart. Finally, the path leads over small snow and ice fields of the Grinnerferner
via the southeast wing to the mountain top.
The last stretch is in danger of falling rocks and you also have to walk in the
Climb difficulty level UIAA II. An additional starting point for climbing the Parseierspitze
is the northern Memminger Hütte, which is located at 2242 meters above sea level. This path leads
via the Spiehlerweg, in a southerly direction to the Patrolscharte and finally via the northern limit of the
Grinnerferners in a good six hours to the Parseierspitze.
