General:
The Nevado Huascarán mountain is the highest mountain in Peru with a height of 6768 meters.
It is located in the Peruvian Andes, in the Cordillera Blanca and is also the fourth highest mountain in South America.
Nevado Huascarán has two others named Huascaran Norte and Chopicalqu in addition to its main glaciated peak.
The first ascent of its summit is said to have been a German-Austrian expedition. On July 20, 1932, E. Hein, E. Schneider, H. Bernhard and H. Hoerlin were the first people to climb Nevado Huascarán Mountain.
However, an American named Annie Smith Peck is said to have brought the mountain to its knees as early as 1908, although this has not yet been confirmed.
