Mountains Asia

Asia, as the spiritual center of the earth and the antithesis to the material West, has numerous holy places and mountains. In Asia, the sacred mountains stand as "the symbol of triumph and human renewal over the deep valleys of worldliness, where men live entangled in the illusions of their own doing".

The gods on the mountains are already described in the Indian Vedas, the earliest testimonies of religious writing. In myths and legends, ancient Buddhist texts tell of the gods who have their abode on the mountains. The Himalayas in particular testify to the power of the mountains as sacred places.

This mountain range with its ice and snow-capped peaks is extraordinary in every respect, because here are not only the highest mountains on our planet, but also the holiest.
