General:

The Alpamayo is in the north of the Peruvian Cordillere Blance and is
as one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Because of its remote and
poorly accessible location became the
Mountain known late among the mountaineers in Europe.

After three failed expeditions, the first ascent finally succeeded
on June 19, 1957 by the German mountaineering team Günther Hauser, Bernhard
Huhn, Frieder Knauss and Horst Wiedmann crossing the Alpamayo mountain peak
reached the South Degree. The current Ferrari route was only introduced in 1975 in the
Southwest wall opened. It was named after Casimiro Ferrari, who lived in
Summer 1975 with D. Borgonovo, P. Castelnovo, Pino Negri, Sandro Liati and Angelo
Zoia climbed the mountain together for the first time via this route.
