Tyvek

In terms of its malleability, Tyvek behaves somewhat like paper. However, it is more durable. It is not waterproof but very water repellent. The material is very tear-resistant and is often used for protective clothing and in areas where hygiene plays an important role.

Tyvek is a trademark of DuPont. The paper fleece-like fiber functional textile consists of thermally welded fibers based on polyethylene. Tyvek is used, for example, in the packaging and office supplies industry. The material is also used for protective clothing in clean room technology, in operating theaters and for securing evidence.

Since Tyvek only loses a few fibers and, thanks to the fleece, almost no cells separated from the body can escape from the suit, it is almost perfect for sterile working conditions.
