Aramid is a synthetic fiber with very good impact absorption, tensile abrasion and tear resistance. The material is counted among the type of polyamides. It is light in weight and has a high melting point.

Aramid is primarily used to make bulletproof vests or fire blankets. It is also suitable for motorcycle clothing to reinforce areas at risk of falling. The best-known aramid is Kevlar.
