LAN

LAN is the abbreviation for "Local Area Network."
This local network is limited to a specific location, such as a company site, or describes a network of several computers.
This allows users to mutually exchange data, share hardware and, as a result, create new opportunities for collaboration.
The LAN can be limited to just one room, but it can also cover an entire company site.
The so-called LAN hosts are connected to one another via a network card and power cable. The card is located directly in the computer and the power cord serves as the medium that connects the computer.
The speed of the connection depends on the speed of the network card or the length of the cable.
This results in a faster connection between client and server.
The term LAN usually refers to a company-internal or private intranet. It is possible to access the Internet with the intranet using, among other things, a Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP).
The PPP is used to establish a connection via dial-up lines, it is generally referred to in information technology as a network protocol.
Another hardware component is the router. He regulates the dial-in, is in constant contact with the host and opens or closes the Internet connection depending on the request.
