Drive
The term drive is generally used for mass storage devices running under an operating system.
This device reads and writes storage media, i.e. data carriers. The medium used for this can either be removable, such as a floppy disk or CD-ROM, or non-removable, such as a hard disk.
Various drives:
The physical drives can be internal drives that are already built into the computer or external drives, which are separate devices and usually connected to the computer with a cable. The operating systems of the computers assign a code letter to each drive, which is usually followed by a colon. This makes their assignment easier.
