JAZ-drive

The JAZ drive is a removable disk drive developed by the US technology company Iomega.
It is a magnetic reader for JAZ disks. This drive has mainly been used for backup purposes because of its high storage capacity of 1GB to 2GB.
The high storage capacity is possible thanks to two magnetic disks inside the drive, the so-called JAZ disks.
The advantage of them is that they can be overwritten again and again. The JAZ drive can be connected to the computer using a SCSI, USB or PCI interface.
Due to the low access time of 12 ms and thanks to the bootability, the JAZ drive can also be used as a hard disk replacement.
