Aliasing

Aliasing

Aliasing is an undesirable phenomenon that occurs in computer graphics. It is particularly noticeable on round and sloping edges due to the unsightly formation of steps.
For example, curves appear jagged. This effect is counteracted with the anti-aliasing technique. Here, the stepped effect is softened by graded color transitions and thus has a more harmonious effect on the viewer.
