Kaiserstuhl
The Kaiserstuhl is a low mountain range in southwest Germany and is located in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. It is of volcanic origin and is located northwest of Freiburg im Breisgau in the Upper Rhine Plain.
The Kaiserstuhl has its greatest extension with a length of 16 km to the south-west. The greatest width is 12.5 km.
Its highest elevation, with the catchy name Totenkopf, is 557 m high.
With its partly almost Mediterranean climate and the excellent volcanic loess soil, the Kaiserstuhl is one of the warmest regions in Germany and has a long wine-growing tradition.
