Land register

An official directory, the land register, is kept at the district court, in which the properties are listed. Only in Baden-Württemberg is the land register kept by notaries. For example, encumbrances on the property such as a mortgage are entered in the land register, and restrictions and third-party rights, such as rights of use, are also recorded in the land register.
