The energy industry consists of several institutions that ensure that private households and companies of all kinds are supplied with energy. There are several types of power supply:

Energy from gases (hydrogen, town gas or natural gas)
Energy from liquid fuels
Energy from Electricity

Furthermore, the energy industry deals with energy production, energy storage, energy transport, energy trading, the sale and billing of energy. The concept of the energy industry emerged in the later phase of the industrial revolution when the use of electricity and gas began and a structure for the supply of these energies became necessary.
