Singapura

A naturally occurring breed that mostly lived in drainpipes in Singapore and was therefore also called "Drain Cat". It was first introduced to the USA in 1975 and presented at an exhibition a year later. She quickly gained recognition from most cat clubs. In Europe, however, this breed is very rare.

It is considered the smallest cat breed in Europe. Singaporea is the name for the island republic of Singapore, where the cat comes from. The Singaporea is known to be playful, sociable, lively, headstrong, active, intelligent, friendly, fearless and has a strong bond with its people.

She likes to seek human contact and yet she retains her independence.

The body weight of the cat of about 2 kg and the tomcat of 2.5-3.5 kg is unusually light. She has a small stature, which is not dainty, but rather stocky.

Despite its tiny size, the Singaporea makes a powerful impression without appearing sluggish. She is well proportioned all round and stands on relatively short, muscular legs.

She has a somewhat round doll face with huge green almond eyes. Striking are the long, bowl-like ears, which are always on the receiving end.
