German Rex

The main feature of this breed is the curly or wavy fur, which feels velvety soft like a mole`s fur. Their guard hairs are underdeveloped and the guide hairs are completely absent. The whiskers are greatly shortened and curved.

The German Rex is medium-sized and strong, has a rounded head with strong cheeks and a slight indentation at the base of the nose. Their eyes are medium-sized and round, the ears have rounded tips, the legs are relatively delicate with oval paws. Their overall appearance is that of a slender domestic cat.

The curly coat trait is a defect mutation in hair growth and is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner.
