Norwegian forest-cat

The Norwegian Forest Cat was first recognized in the 1930s discussed as a pedigree cat, but because of the World War all considerations
interrupted. Discussions resumed in the 1950s and 1960s.
The Norwegian Forest Cat was finally recognized again in 1976. "Truls" was one of those
first Norwegian Forest Cats. Else and Egil Nylund owned this black-tabby-white male,
the to archetype of this breed.

The FIFe also recognized the Norwegian Forest cat as a pedigree cat in 1977.

The Norwegian Forest Cat has become very popular and can be found all over the world.
She has long been considered Norway`s national cat and "Norsk Skogkatt" (Norwegian Forest Cat).

Their dense, warm fur offers excellent protection against the cold, whereby the underfur

covered by the upper coat, which keeps moisture away from the skin and undercoat.
It doesn`t matter whether it`s raining outside or the thermometer shows minus degrees - you can find them in every
climate right.

Body:
• lithe, muscular with a nice long bushy "tail".
  The hind legs are slightly higher than the front legs.
  

Head:
• triangular shape, with sides of equal length, good height - seen in profile
  Slightly rounded forehead, long straight profile without stops, strong chin.
  

Ears:
• elegant lynx ears with long tufts.
  

The Norwegian Forest Cat is not bred for colour.

Any color is allowed (except for mask drawing (points),
chocolate, lilac etc. Currently still cinnamon and fawn).

They seek contact with people, but also with their others,
four-legged roommates.
Forest cat trolls are affectionate and playful - yet peaceful.
