Career
Arnold Palmer has won 4 Masters, 2 Open Championships and once the US Open over the course of his fascinating career, for a total of 7 Majors wins.
He spent the peak of his career on the PGA Tour between 1960 and 1963.
There he recorded 29 tournament wins in just four seasons. At that time, a huge fan community formed around the star, who would follow him from tournament to tournament decades later.
In 1967 he earned over a million, making him the first professional golfer to earn such a large sum.
In the 1960s, Arnold Palmer was overtaken by his still young rival, but he still managed to record a win every year and even four in 1972.
In the PGA Senior Tour, which is now also known as the Champions Tour, Palmer was able to make a significant contribution to the tournament series with his participation and performance, winning a total of 10 events there, five of which were senior majors.
In Augusta, Georgia in 2004, Arnold Palmer made his final Masters appearance after 50 consecutive starts.
He announced his retirement from the Senior Masters a year later when he missed the cut by 21 shots at the US Senior Open.
Ultimately, in October 2006, he retired from professional tournament operations.
Arnold Palmer has been involved in the world of golf for more than four decades and will always be remembered by those who shared his passion for the sport.
Above all as a friendly person and as one who gave everything that could be seen in each of his golf shots.
