Career
Jack Nicklaus was one of the best golfers in the world from the 60`s to the 80`s.
He is one of the great golfers in history and in 1996 he was also the first in the history of the PGA to win what was then the Senior Tour, now the Champions Tour, four times.
He also impressed when he won all major tournaments on the PGA Tour and Senior Tour.
He announced at the 2005 Open that this was his last professional golf tournament. One of his reasons was that Open winners are only allowed to compete until they are 65 years old.
However, the order of the tournament was changed in my honor and it took place on the traditional Old Course at St Andrews.
In addition, the Royal Bank of Scottland produced a special print of the 5 pound note in honor of Jack Nicklaus.
As a master of his craft, at his best he managed to combine the almost unrivaled combination of the largest putter ever seen with the longest shot.
He built the Jack Nicklaus Companies with his sons. In addition to selling various merchandising items, he also manages to make a name for himself in designing golf courses. Today he is a leading golf course architect with his company Golden Bear International.
