Earth
Temperatures on our planet range from 50°C at the equator to -90°C in Antarctica. Its diameter is 12,765.28 km. Its distance from the sun is 147-152 million km. It has a rotation of 23 hours and 45 minutes, an orbital period around the sun of 365 earth days and 1 moon. The seasons result from the position of the Earth`s axis. The part that is closest to the sun is summer and the opposite side of the earth is winter.
The earth has a core of a nickel-iron mixture surrounded by a viscous mantle and a rocky crust. It is assumed that the earth`s core consists of the same mass as the sun, i.e. hydrogen and helium.
The northern half of our planet is one-third land and two-thirds water, while the southern half is one-fifth land and four-fifths water. Their atmosphere consists of nitrogen (77%) and oxygen (21%), the rest is carbon dioxide and water.
Our earth`s moon is called "Luna" and has a diameter of 3,476 km. Its distance from Earth is 384,400 km and its orbital period around the Earth is 27 days and 8 hours.
