Astronomy
Astronomy (Greek: ástron = star, nómos = law) is the science of the heavenly bodies. It is considered one of the oldest sciences.
Astronomy uses scientific means to explore the properties of objects in the universe, including celestial bodies such as planets, moons, stars including the sun, star clusters, galaxies and galaxy clusters, interstellar matter and the radiation occurring in space. Furthermore, it strives for an understanding of the universe as a whole, its origin and its structure.
Astronomy is not to be confused with astrology, which deals with the interpretation of the stars.
