Original text:
stanza:
Puro, Chile, es tu cielo azulado,
puras brisas te cruzan también;
(2 times) ]
Reverse verse:
Dulce patria, receive the votes
(2 times) ]
Translation:
stanza:
Pure is, Chile, your sky, the blue one;
gentle breezes blow through your field.
Your fields and flowery meadows
are verily Eden\'s happy image.
Majestic snow-white Andes
[ the Lord gave you a protective wreath; (2 times) ]
[ and the sea, whose waves break upon you,
shows you the way to future glory. (2 times) ]
Reverse verse:
Dear homeland, hear something in faithfulness,
resounds to you on Chile\'s altars:
[ Be alone the tomb of the free
Or safe haven from violence! (3 times) ]
[ Or safe haven from violence! (2 times) ]
