Opera
The opera (from Italian opera in musica, "musical work") has been referred to as a musical genre since about 1650, in which a scenic-dramatic action takes place through music. In its overall effect, the opera encloses
- music,
- seal,
- Performing Arts and Drama,
- Ballet and Dance,
- Stage design such as painting, sculpture, decoration and architecture
- as well as masks, costumes and lighting.
In opera, it is primarily the music that carries the action, the feelings and the atmosphere. In contrast to this is the simultaneous accompaniment of a spoken piece with music, e.g. in melodrama, singspiel or simple incidental music.
