Brazilian national anthem

Country: Brazil
Title: Hino National Brasileiro
Text: Joaquim Osório Duque Estrada (1909)
Composer: Francisco Manuel da Silva (1822)
National anthem since: 1922

Original text:

Ouviram do Ipiranga as margins plácidas

Desafia o nosso peito a propria morte!

Ó Pátria amada,
idolatrada,
Volley! Volley!

Brasil, to sonho intenso, to raio vívido,
De amor e de esperança à terra desce,
Se em teu formoso céu, risonho e límpido,
A imagem do Cruzeiro resplandece.

Gigante pela propria natureza,
És belo, és forte, impávido colosso,
E o teu futuro espelha essa grandeza.

Terra adorada
Entre outras mil
És tu, Brasil,
O Patria amada!

Dos filhos deste solo
És mãe gentil,
Patria amada,
Brazil!

Deitado eternamente em berço esplêndido,
Ao som do mar e à luz do céu profundo,
Fulguras, ó Brasil, florão da America,
Iluminado ao sol do Novo Mundo!

Do que a terra mais garrida
Teus risonhos, lindos campos têm mais flores,
\"Nossos bosques têm mais vida\",
\"Nossa vida\" no teu seio \"mais amores\".

Ó Pátria amada,
idolatrada,
Volley! Volley!

Brasil, de amor eterno seja símbolo
O lábaro que ostentas estrelado,
E diga o verde-louro dessa flâmula
- Paz no futuro e gloria no passado.

Mass se ergues da justiça a clava forte,
Verás que um filho teu não foge à luta,
Nem teme, quem te adora, a propria morte.

Terra adorada
Entre outras mil
És tu, Brasil,
O Patria amada!

Dos filhos deste solo
És mãe gentil,
Patria amada,
Brazil

Translation:

The calm banks of the Ipiranga heard
echo the cry of a heroic people,
the sun of freedom appeared with a flashing ray
at this moment in the sky of our homeland.

If we can make this equality
to fight
in your name, freedom,
our breast defies even our own death!

Greetings, beloved homeland,
Dear,
Hello!

Brazil, when in Your beautiful sky, smiling and clear,
the image of the Southern Cross outshines everything,
drives an intense dream, a luminous flash
of love and hope down to earth.

A giant by nature,
you are beautiful and strong, fearless colossus,
and in your future this greatness is reflected.

Dear Earth,
among many thousands
are you, brazil,
the beloved homeland!

To the children of this soil
are you caring mother,
beloved homeland,
Brazil!

Forever embedded in the splendor of your cradle,
the sound of the sea and the light of the wide sky,
You appear, Brazil, as the great flower of America,
like the glow of the sun in the New World!

You are the most glorious here on earth,
Your smiling fields have many more flowers,
Our forests possess more life,
and our life, at your breast, knows more love.

Oh, beloved homeland,
Dear,
Hello!

Brazil, our eternal love be symbol
the flag, proudly hoisted and full of stars,
in laurel green she proclaims,
of a future in peace and past glory.

But if we fight in the name of justice,
you will see that none of your sons flees,
and that no one who loves you fears their own death.

Dear Earth,
among many thousands
are you, brazil,
the beloved homeland!

To the children of this soil
are you a caring mother,
beloved homeland,
Brazil!
