7. Crusade

7th Crusade 1270 - 1272

The 7th crusade was the last cruel march of Christians against those of other faiths. It was Louis who repeatedly gathered troops, first to take Tunis and later to invade Egypt.
During the siege of Tunis, bubonic plague broke out in the war camp. Ludwig died as one of the first of this disease. His death also killed the enthusiasm for the Crusades, which lasted 200 years.
