Middle Ages

In European history, the term Middle Ages refers to the epoch between antiquity and modern times (approx. 500 to 1500). In the Middle Ages, the political and cultural dominance of the Greco-Roman Mediterranean region was replaced by a new world of Christian feudal states of Roman, Germanic, Celtic and Slavic peoples surrounding the whole of Europe.

The basic features of the European Middle Ages were a society organized according to estates, a devoutly Christian attitude in literature, art, science and Latin as a collective cultural and educational language. In addition, the idea of ??the unity of the Christian church and a unified world view were characteristic of this age. The trend-setting social and economic reform of the Middle Ages was feudalism.
