Black Forest
Germany`s largest contiguous low mountain range is the Black Forest, which is located in western Baden-Württemberg. It is mostly heavily forested and extends 160 km from the border triangle (Switzerland-France-Germany) across the Upper Rhine Plain to the north. It has its widest point at 60 km in the south, whereas in the south there is only 30 km.

The highest peak in the southern Black Forest is the Feldberg at 1,493 m.
