Carnic Alps
The Carnic Alps form a more than 100 km long, pronounced ridge that runs from east to west. These are a very popular hiking area that stretches from the Drava, Gail and Tagliamento.

These Paleozoic calcareous massifs are formed in areas near the equator, located in the warm and shallow seas of the Devon coast of Africa. At more than 400 million years, they are many times older than the Mesozoic Alps.
