Best film music
(Best Music, Score)
The composers of the film music of a film have been honored with their own Oscar since 1935.
The "Best Original Score" category is considered the most complex category at the Oscars. For decades, two Oscars have been awarded due to the different genres of music and definition. At times, other Oscars were awarded with terms such as score, original score or the distinction between drama and comedy or musical.
Since 2000 there has only been one Oscar for best film music
