Here, linear perspective was developed and three-dimensional space was convincingly reproduced on a flat surface. The sculptor Donatello had a lasting influence on Renaissance art. He created the bronze David - the first life-size nude statue since antiquity. The motifs from ancient mythology appeared alongside the Christian motifs.
