The Sphynx is a hairless cat. However, on closer inspection
a light down of hair can be seen, which covers the whole body.
The breed standard allows for a light down of hair on the ears and tail.
Sphynx cats are very intelligent, affectionate cats.
Even in ancient times, the hairless Sphynx cats were mentioned in reports.
The Sphynx cats have their breeding origins from cats in Canada, although they have been here since 1966
bred from a naturally mutated cat by humans.
The desire for ever new breeds means that animals are bred that are under
natural conditions cannot exist. Unfortunately, this overbreeding in the
current legislation in all countries still allowed.
