Turkish Angora
history
The Angora cat, originally from Turkey, is one of the oldest long-haired breeds.It came to Europe with Italian seafarers in the 17th century and was introduced in the
18th century to the darling of the nobility where she was ubiquitous.
With the advent of the Persian cat, the popularity of the Angora faded.
In order to be able to continue breeding the breed that is desired again today, imported
American breeders even brought an Angora pair from Turkey in the 1950s.
Character
The Turkish Angora is an affable, playful cat species.
She is curious, alert, intelligent and seeks contact with her people
but also busy alone..
She has a very gentle appearance and is one of the naturally elegant breeds
but they are by no means sensitive.
In character they are not quiet cats, but they can also behave and
do not annoy their fellow human beings with penetrating meowing.
However, the Turkish Angora is not suitable for keeping alone. She needs a lot of attention
and needs attention.
