US Masters

General

The Augusta National Golf Club has been the organizer of the tournament taking place there in Augusta (Georgia), USA since 1934. In contrast to the other major tournaments, the Masters - an official event of the PGA TOUR and PGA European Tour - an invitational tournament. However, there is a catalog of formal invitation criteria that ensure that the world`s best players can start. The golf tournament is held over four rounds (Thursday to Sunday), on the Wednesday before the par 3 contest has been held on the short course since 1960.

The Green Jacket

Since 1949, the winner has been presented with the "Green Jacket" and a lifetime right to compete. An old tradition is that the winner of the previous year helps the current winner into the jacket at the award ceremony.
