Career
Pak Se-ri started playing golf at the age of 14 with the advice and support of her father.
In her amateur career she was able to record 30 successful tournaments.
In 1996 she won six tournaments on the Korea LPGA Tour.
As a professional golfer, Pak Se-ri then qualified for the LPGA Tour in 1998.
She was named for her two major wins at the U.S. Women`s Open Championship and Mc Donald`s LPGA Rookie of the Year.
So far she has won about 30 other tournaments on the tour, has been nominated for the World Golf Hall of Fame and three more major victories.

Pak Se-ri will have to wait until the end of this year to record since you have to have been a tour member for at least 10 years.

She enjoys great popularity not least because of her impressive track record and her good knowledge of English.

Her only competition there is the more successful Annika Sörenstam.
Both previously competed in the 2003 SBS Super Tournament on the Korean Tour, also commonly known as the men`s professional tournament.

However, the Korean Tour is not relevant for the world golf rankings and unlike Sorenstam, Pak Se-ri was able to finish the tournament and finished tenth.

In 2005, Pak missed the cut for the first time in 29 major starts due to a finger injury, but came back exceptionally strong a year later.
She defeated Karrie Web in the playoff on the first extra hole.


Awards

1998 Order of Merit - the highest award given to an athlete by the South Korean government.

1998 Player of the Year - awarded by the Golf Writers Association of America.
