Mercury

This planet is closest to the sun and is the second smallest planet. There is a day temperature of up to 350°C and a night temperature of up to -170°C.

It has a diameter of approx. 4,878 km. The distance to the earth is 80-220 million km, the distance to the sun is 46-70 million km. A Mercury day corresponds to 2 months. Its rotation corresponds to 58.7 Earth days and the orbital period around the sun is 88 Earth days.

Mercury has an iron core, a liquid iron mantle and a rocky surface. Its atmosphere is made up of oxygen (42%), sodium (29%) and hydrogen (22%). It is similar in structure to our moon and is also covered with craters of various sizes.
