Sun

The sun is at the center of our solar system. It is orbited by planets, asteroids and comets. Life on earth would not be possible without them.

It is believed that the temperature inside is over 1,000,000°C. It has a diameter of 1,390,000 km and a surface temperature of around 6,100°C. The distance to Earth is 147-152 million km. Their rotation corresponds to 25 – 36 earth days. The age of the sun is estimated at around 4.57 billion years. It consists of hydrogen (73.5%), helium (25%) and other elements such as metals (1.5%).

In about 4 weeks, the sun rotates once around its own axis. Our sun consists of shell-shaped zones and does not have a smooth surface. The surface pattern is honeycombed.
