Denominations

In Buddhism, different directions have developed over time. These are also called "vehicles" because people use them to cross the "river of the becoming world" to the other bank. 130 million Buddhists belong to the Hinayana, the so-called small vehicle. 200 million people belong to the Mahayana, the so-called great vehicle and 30 million to the Vajarayana, the diamond vehicle.
