General:

Mount Washington is one of the White Mountains and rises in the state of New Hampshire.
According to Indian belief, the holy Agiocochook, translated the Great Spirit, was enthroned on its highest peak. No one had ever dared to climb the mountain until the settlers arrived and shattered the myth.
After that they gave it the name of their first president and over time the other mountains around it also found namesakes like Mount Adams, Mount Jefferson, Mount Eisenhower because of this the area is also called Presidential Range.

The summit of Mount Washington has very arctic flora and therefore no tree on the summit.
Even in the summer, there is usually still snow on the peaks of Mount Washington.
The reason for this is the wind which makes the landscape appear so barren there and the wind speeds are unbelievable.
In 1934, the highest wind speed ever recorded outside of a typhoon was 372 km/h.
Then, in the mid-19th century, the mountain became a tourist attraction A road was built to the summit and the Tip Top Hotel was built there in 1853, which has been converted into a museum in recent years.
Another attraction is the rack railway built in 1869, the Mount Washington Cog Railway. It is the oldest steam-powered railway that goes up a mountain.
