Young 15-year-old Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) is assigned to look after her brother while her father and stepmother are away. But Sara doesn`t feel like it, feels unfairly treated by her parents and just doesn`t manage to calm her brother down either. Because of her passion for magic, fairy tales and fantasy, she seeks the solution to her problems in this world and wishes that the goblin king would take her little brother. This happens naturally, and the goblin Jareth (David Bowie) takes the baby into a bizarre world. Now she has exactly 13 hours to free her little brother. Her path leads her first into the labyrinth that surrounds the castle. There she meets all sorts of creatures, experiences adventures and just manages to save herself from the dangers.
