Career
Bruce Willis, like many other actors, began his career in Off-Broadway plays and various commercials.
He then seized his chance and prevailed against 3000 competitors and landed the role of David Addison in the successful series "The Model and the Snoop". He also works as a singer.
The role brought him the Golden Globe, an Emmi and his international breakthrough. Made his leading actor debut, opposite Kim Basinger, in the comedy Blind Date.
However, his biggest hit was the role of the cool cop John McClane, who always has a joke on his lips.
This role was tailor-made for him and turned him into an action hero. The first part was followed by the second and a third. No action hero before him had ever been as tireless as Bruce Willis, and apart from Marlon Brando, no one in his sweaty undershirt could do it. With Bruce Willis` "Die Hard" trilogy, Hollywood found a new, solid action figure.
However, he was also able to establish himself in other genres.
In the mid-90s he tried to escape his action image with the film "Death Becomes Her".
Unfortunately he was unsuccessful. Only with the role of the boxer in the film Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino did new success spread.
This was followed by other action films such as "The Fifth Element", "Twelve Monkeys" and "Armageddon".
However, he failed to excel in the role of the psychiatrist in the drama genre film The Sixth Sense and was played against the wall by the 11-year-old.
Following these successes, he turned his attention to the drama genre with films such as The Sixth Sense.
After that, his career just dabbled along with less successful films like "By Your Side", "The Kid - Image is Everything", "Unbreakable", "Bandits!" and "The Tribunal".
Only the year 2005 brought us back the old Bruce in the new Tarantino "Sin City". In 2006 he released the film 16 Blocks and now a new Die Hard part is in the works.
In addition to his activities as an actor in the film world, he can also be seen on stage in the theater as a producer and singer.
He released two very successful CD`s/LPs: "If it don`t kill you it just makes you stronger" and "The Return of Bruno".
He married actress Demi Moor and they lived together as a couple from 1987 to 2000. This marriage produced three daughters, who are also allowed to stand in front of the camera.
