Career
Arnolds Schwarzenegger, born July 30, 1947 in Graz (Austria), discovered his passion for weightlifting at the age of 15. Three years later he started bodybuilding and at the age of only 20 he managed to become "Mr. Universe". 12 more followed World Championship title: a record that no one before him had set.

Arnold Schwazenegger was discovered as an actor in a documentary about the election of "Mr. Universe" by director Bob Rafelson. He then cast him in 1976`s "Mister Universe" alongside Sally Field and Jeff Bridges. The critics praised him - there was the Golden Globe as the best Newcomers only a matter of form. At the age of 31, he then decided to devote himself only to acting.

In 1982 he made his breakthrough with "Conan the Barbarian". With "Conan the Destroyer" he built his success even further and was able to build a large following. In 1983, Arnold took a risk and took on the title role in a low-budget film by a hitherto unknown director who had no studio behind him was produced. It was James Cameron`s "Terminator". A year later the film was an international success and was voted one of the 10 best films of the year and made Schwarzenegger one of the top Hollywood stars. "The City Shark", "Running Man" and "Predator" followed and were all successful. After all the action films, Arni wanted to do something different than just films of this genre and in 1988 realized another dream: he starred alongside Danny DeVito in the comedy "Twins". In 1990 we started two films and they were more than successful: "Total Recall" and the comedy "Kindergarten Cop".

"Terminator 2 - Judgment Day" grossed over 500 million dollars worldwide and brought Schwarzenegger his biggest hit to date. In 1993 "Last Action Hero" was released in our cinemas, a year later he starred opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in the action comedy "True Lies". The films "Junior" and "Eraser" brought further success to Schwarzenegger. In 1997 he starred alongside George Clooney in the 4th installment of the Batman series "Batman & Robin". After filming, he had to take a break from filming for 2 years due to health problems only then the apocalyptic thriller "End Of Days - Nacht ohne Morgen". However, this film was just as unsuccessful as "The 6th Day" or "Collateral Damage - Time of Retaliation". In 2003, Schwarzenegger tried again to win back his fan base with "Terminator 3".

Off the screen, from mid-2003, there were repeated rumors about a possible candidacy for governor of the state of California. On October 8th, 2003 it became true: Arni became elected governor by the citizens of the state of California. Since then, all film projects have been put on hold.

Arnold has been married to JFK`s niece, Maria Shriver, since 1986. They have 4 children: Katherine Eunice (*1990), Christina Maria Aurelia (*1991), Patrick (*1993) and Christopher (*1997). (t0606)
