Career
Chuck Norris is the son of Ray and Wilna Norris, both parents are of half Cherokee, half Irish descent. Chuck is the oldest of a total of three children. His father was an alcoholic and left the family early. At age twelve, he moved in with his mother and brothers from Oklahoma to California. After finishing high school, Norris enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1958 and served as a military policeman in Korea. He received the nickname "Chuck" from his comrades. During his time in Korea, he turned to martial arts and practiced in the Korean martial art Tang Soo Do. In 1962 he returned to the USA and founded several karate schools. His students included many. Celebrities such as Steve McQueen, Priscilla Presley and Michael Landon. It was Steve McQueen who gave him the idea to get into the film business.
In 1968 he was world middleweight champion in karate. In 1969, Black Belt magazine named him Fighter of the Year. In addition, Norris was the first western Man who holds 8th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo.
In addition, Norris has published an autobiography entitled "The Secret of Inner Strength" and founded the aid organization Kickstart to end violence and violence curbing drug trafficking in schools.
Chuck Norris has four children. From his first marriage the two sons Mike and Eric and from the second marriage to Gena O`Kelley the twins Dakota Alan Norris and Danilee Kelly Norris.
His brother Aaron Norris is also in the film business and has made seven films starring Chuck Norris.
