Beckinsale, Kate

PERSONAL DATA:

NAME: Kate Beckinsale
DATE OF BIRTH: 26.7.1973
PLACE OF BIRTH: London, England, United Kingdom

Career:

Kate Beckinsale comes from a British family.
Her whole family was already engaged in show business. Richard Beckinsale has appeared frequently on stage and on television. Her mother Judy had a job as a casting director at the BBC and even her half-sister Samantha worked on the television stage. They all gave Kate the security and stepping stone to a successful career.
From the bottom to the big studios of the world.
Initially, however, Kate Backinsale concentrated on a different area, the writer. From a young age she won numerous prizes with her poems and short stories.
In the end, however, she decided to pursue acting and turned her back on a career as a writer.
Her first screen success came in 1993 with the role of Hero in Kenneth Branagh`s charged and enchanting version of the Shakespearean comedy Much Ado About Nothing.
In 1995 her next film was "Cold Comfort Farm" and in the same year she starred in a small horror film "Haunted" alongside Aidan Quinn and John Gielgud.
Two years later, Kate Beckinsale ventured into a new genre, making her fans laugh with her 1997 comedy Shooting Fish.
Shortly thereafter, she retired, enjoyed her personal life and gave birth to her first child in 1999.
She celebrated her comeback and international breakthrough in 2001 with the war drama "Pearl Habor". She starred as Evelyn alongside Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett.
In the funny love story "Because you exist" she believes that destiny has sent her the love of her life in the person of John Cusack.
In the same year, 2002, she also shot the drama "Laurel Canyon" and returned to the cinemas in vinyl and leather as a vampire in the action flick "Underworld" in the same year. She seemed to like the genre and, as an ally of the monster hunter, starred in "Van Helsing" with Hugh Jackman.
Kate Beckinsale also landed the role of Eva Gardner in Martin Scorsese`s The Aviator, which even won an Oscar.
In March 2006 all vampire friends got their money`s worth when Kate fought again as Selene against the dark powers in the second part of "Underworld".
Shortly thereafter, she was seen again in a completely different genre, opposite Adam Sandler in the comedy "Click".
Further projects are being planned and we can even look forward to a new film with Kate Beckinsale this year.
