John Travolta as FBI Agent Sean Archer is soaked in hate. The reason for this hatred is Nicolas Cage who plays a terrorist named Castor Troy who killed his son. Archer has made it his life`s work to catch the terrorist, no matter what the cost. After six years of hunting, Archer succeeds and he sends Troy to the comma. But there`s a hitch before Castor was sent to the comma, his arch-rival planted a time bomb somewhere in L.A. Only Castor`s brother Pollux (Allesandro Nivola), who is in prison, knows the location of the hidden bomb. Because of this, Archer embarks on a macabre plan. Castor`s face is transplanted to him by laser in order to slip into the role of Castor and visit his brother in prison to ask him about the location of the bomb. But the plan doesn`t work out and everything goes wrong. Castor wakes up from his coma and has Archer`s face transplanted. He takes on his role at work and in the marriage bed.
